Our Fast Pitch session (a virtual event) with Jean Carper, documentary filmmaker, (former CNN medical correspondent,) and independent consulting producer Lee Koromovokis, Emmy-award-winning producer for PBS NewsHour, is scheduled for Wed. May 31, at 2 pm ET.

Jean and Lee are investigating stem cell therapy for a feature length theatrical and TV documentary film, tentatively titled “Inside the Stem Cell Revolution,” to be produced in the next year with shooting beginning in July. They are looking for leading experts in stem cell research and clinical applications to discuss this exciting and exploding new form of intervention for multiple conditions, including osteoarthritis, heart disease, strokes, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hair loss, macular degeneration, MS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, Alzheimer’s, autism, spinal cord injury, etc. The documentary explores stem cell therapy’s current status, promise and hazards, including the proliferation of controversial clinics that create a market in treatment tourism.

The documentary offers an “insider’s” perspective to counter balance the sense of urgency and chaos that dominates the advancement of this unprecedented therapy. The ultimate aim is to help impatient patients understand the importance of making wise choices in the rapidly moving field of stem cell therapy.
