John Travis and Leslie Roberts, Science
John and Leslie are looking for pitches for issues of Science dealing with the neuroscience of pain
Wednesday, Jun 22, 2016, 2:00pm - 2:30pm EDT
EVENT DESCRIPTION
John and Leslie are particularly interested in two special issues of Science dealing with the neuroscience of pain
The pain issue is targeted and timed to coincide with the Society for Neuroscience’s annual meeting in November. He and Emily are broadly interested current research trends and controversies in pain science as well as topics such as chronic pain, novel or non-addictive pain killers, and opioids--research, clinical, ethical or regulatory aspects.
John explains they are looking for ideas that will be presented at the meeting. They do not necessarily have to be research news. They could be feature oriented about trends, themes, or ongoing research issues or even profiles of scientist who is doing provocative, cutting edge science which is moving the field forward or generating controversy and also has an interesting life story.
John writes, assigns stories, and edits news and feature stories for the print and web versions of Science. When he identifies a story, he'll likely assign it to a staff writer who will contact your source.
You can read more about John's articles at Science magazine or his LinkedIn profile and Leslie's Science magazine articles. You can see an example of a special issue of Science (dealing with forensic science) online.
