The Power of Quality Panel Addressing Critical Issues Facing Patient Care
Friday, Apr 14, 2023, 8:15am - 10:00am EDT
EVENT DESCRIPTION
On Friday, April 14, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) will host a panel event with hospital leaders from the Washington Metropolitan area to discuss the cost and regulatory hurdles facing the healthcare community and its impact on patient care.
This event marks the start of a national effort to improve quality and raise awareness about how ACS Quality Programs address an urgent need present in healthcare. Current national strategies are not enough to achieve high-quality patient care, as they fail to measure quality and make needed progress that improve patient outcomes. Hospital leaders will discuss the need for data-backed programs and policies that result in greater care and how ACS Quality Programs drive impact for patients and hospitals, define quality, set the standard for clinical data, support surgeons everywhere, and are the true mark of quality.
Panelists:
Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, Executive Director of the ACS
J. Stephen Jones, MD, FACS, President and CEO, Inova Health System
Kristen K. Edmiston, MD, MPH, FACS, Vice President, Surgical Safety and Operations, Inova Health System
