Mary Ann is only interested in stories from Texas institutions.

Mary Ann is interested in medical research with a Texas perspective, and it's even better the closer it is to Austin. The medical research stories should be about clinical research in humans (not mice). Zika virus is hot right now and probably continue. She is also interested in health care, but quality (effectiveness) and cost ( e.g. transparency).
