EVENT DESCRIPTION

Our Fast Pitch session (a virtual event) with Miles O'Brien, PBS NewsHour, is scheduled for Wed., Dec. 7 at 2 pm EST. He's looking for science stories in Cuba; what science can he find in Cuba, and do you have professors who can help him with that? Miles also has a special interest in drone technology, not just aircraft, also robotic automobiles. He is interested in the "rules of autonomy and how they are established. How confident are we in machines and their signals of reliability? Do we hold them to a higher standard?" While he's looking for a professor who takes a philosophical slant on the machines, he needs the gadgets for video. He's also interested in news about new battery powered electric motors that operate with more power and longer in drones.
