EVENT DESCRIPTION

Life Sciences

Pat both writes and assigns articles in life sciences.  He says “STAT covers life sciences writ large: health, medicine, biomedical and pharmaceutical research, and more. First Opinion gives voice to experts in these areas. We are looking for opinions/perspectives/points of view that have some passion, that will resonate with our readers, and that show a strong personal connection – some first person narrative is great – between the writer and his or her topic. (We want readers to be able to see what gives the author the standing to be writing about the topic.)” Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

  • dietary supplements, the regulation and hazards

  • advances in neuroscience

  • what's beyond CRISP-Cas 9

  • reining in drug costs

  • advances in pain control – on beyond opioids

  • palliative/end-of-life conversations and care
