EVENT DESCRIPTION

Nala Rogers covers Earth, climate, and environmental sciences, as well as all nonhuman biology and ecology. She welcomes pitches about animals and climate change and would be even more grateful for ideas in other areas of her beat, where she has a tougher time finding stories. In the Earth science beat, that might include "mystery solved" type stories, in which scientists have made sense of puzzling geological or oceanographic phenomena. She also would love to get some exciting stories about plants, microbes or fungi. Inside Science is a nonprofit, editorially independent news service run by the American Institute of Physics.

Inside Science, stories appear on www.insidescience.org and are syndicated to news organizations including NBCNews.com, The Washington Post, FoxNews.com, Slate, Christian Science Monitor, The Huffington Post, CBS Digital, Scientific American, LiveScience and PBS Learning Media.
